The Trades 101 course is a three-part educational series of micro-lessons that introduce you to the building trades within the construction industry. Learn the fundamentals about the interplay with construction, how trades work with general contractors and trade apprenticeship programs. Throughout this course, you’ll be introduced to the dynamic, instrumental roles the trades play as part of the building process while learning why the trades are mission critical in construction. 

Learning Objectives:
  • Explain the vital role trades have throughout the construction project lifecycle. 
  • Identify the responsibilities tradespersons have to the success of a project through jobsite coordination and collaboration 
  • Learn about the variety of trade apprenticeship programs and how to get started
  • Understand the benefits of working in the trades, including types of skill-sets for students interested in pursuing a career path or adults looking to make a shift in their career trajectory by taking the transferable skills they’ve built to the trades.
