Shawmut Design and Construction has seen firsthand the progress that results from coupling a culture of safety with technology. From 2019 to 2020, the firm saw a 22% increase in engagement in its safety program and a 53% reduction in OSHA recordable incidents. This year, they're on track to pilot eight new software and hardware solutions—from subcontractor pre-mobilization safety workflow to wearable technology.
In this presentation, Shawmut Chief Safety Officer Shaun Carvalho will share how to establish a culture of safety—from developing policies and procedures to launching initiatives—to engage an entire company.
Attendees will learn how to:
- Establish the foundational building blocks for a culture of safety
- Create incentive programs to promote safety
- Develop tools and resources to train teams both internally and on jobsites
- Use data to focus attention and resources on the areas of safety that need improvement
