Based on OSHA’s publication, Controlling Electrical Hazards, this course offers an overview of basic electrical safety. For those who work with electricity directly or indirectly, it is essential to learn about the hazards that electricity poses and learn best practices to avoid the hazards.

Learning Objectives:
    • Explain the cause of shocks and the effect of shocks on the body
    • Describe how different materials affect the flow of electricity and identify conductors and insulators
    • Describe the hazards that cause and dangers of electrical shock
    • Determine how you can best protect yourself against electrical hazards using work practices in a variety of situations
