Do you understand the benefits of building an inclusive culture at your company?  Did you know that workforce diversity is actually a measure of a company’s good health?  Join Valerie Jackson, Senior Director of Global Inclusion and Diversity at Procore Technologies, Inc., in Part 1 of a three part course series on Building Inclusion. By defining key terms, explaining key connections, revealing unconscious bias and discussing the covering phenomena, this course will prepare you to begin developing an inclusive workplace culture that empowers your employees and unlocks the hidden value of the diversity within your team.

Learning Objectives:
  • Define diversity using the two-dimensional framework and describe the difference between inherent and acquired characteristics.
  • Define inclusion and identify the key elements of an inclusive workplace culture.
  • Explain why we have unconscious bias, name the 4 common workplace triggers, and identify practical ways you can manage your own unconscious bias.
  • Explain the impacts of covering and the importance of encouraging employees to bring their whole selves to work.
